Georgetown GLOW Holiday Promotions & Events

Just keep GLOWing!

While you’re in Georgetown checking out our 6th edition of GLOW (December 6 – January 5) – the region’s only free, curated exhibition of outdoor public light art – be sure to come early or stay afterward to grab a bite to eat and take care of your holiday shopping. More than 40 of Georgetown’s restaurants, retail shops, and hotels are offering special promotions and events throughout the holiday season, and/or staying open late on certain weekends so visitors can make the most of their nights here.

Check out the full list of specials and events below, and plan your day and night in Georgetown! GLOW installations will be lit nightly from 5 pm – 10 pm.

FOOD

+ Bacchus Wine Cellar – Free holiday tasting every Thursday and Friday evening at 6 pm, throughout GLOW.

+ Baked & Wired – Festive holiday cookie decorating party on December 3 from 5 pm – 7 pm, hosted in the cozy glow of Baked & Wired’s holiday lounge. Each participant will get three cutout cookies and plenty of frosting and sprinkles to create their masterpiece. Professional cookie elves will be on hand to offer assistance and inspiration. Coffee, hot chocolate and other seasonal beverages will be available for purchase at the coffee counter all night. On December 6, come back from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm and enjoy an exclusive, unlimited tasting party featuring the best of Baked & Wired’s holiday food and beverage menu. Sample cupcakes, bars, and beverages featuring holiday flavors like peppermint, chocolate, cinnamon, orange and gingerbread, as well as classic holiday cookie offerings. One of their specialists will be on hand to talk you through each item. Get tickets early!

+ Brasserie Liberte – Happy Hour from 3 pm – 6 pm from Monday to Friday throughout GLOW to celebrate the Georgetown community.

+ Calloway Fine Art & Consulting – Homemade treats on December 14 from 4 pm – 7:30 pm while you check out the gallery’s 12 Days of Art launch, plus the closing party for Lindsay Mullen’s ‘Adaptive Measures’ exhibit. All December, visit the gallery to celebrate the 12 Days of Art and shop small pieces that are perfect for gifting. They’ll be celebrating GLOW with a festive gallery hanging and a seasonal holiday window.

+ Church Hall – Grab a spot next to the fireplace and enjoy a new Cinnamon Old Fashioned, Thyme for the Season, Frozen Dark and Stormy, or a Frozen Blackberry Margarita.

+ Georgetown Park – Head to The Alley at Georgetown Park (between H&M and TJ MAXX) Fridays, December 7 – 27, from 5 – 7:30 pm for sweet and savory food trucks, corn hole, and holiday cheer. Food Truck Alley is brought to you by Georgetown Park; food trucks powered by Curbside Kitchen.

+ Grace Street Collective Celebrate opening night of GLOW at the Grace Street Collective Holiday Party, with a community bonfire December 6 from 4:30–8:00 pm at Grace Street and Wisconsin Ave. Hosted by Grace Street Collective and Thyme Holdings, the free event will feature s’mores, music, and a pig roast!

+ Patisserie Poupon – Samples of holiday offerings, Saturdays throughout December.

+ Ri Ra Georgetown – Signature GLOW cocktails, two for $12!

+ The Living Room at the Ritz-Carlton Georgetown – Daily, rotating selection of 25 holiday cocktails thoughtfully crafted to warm the spirits, December 1 – 25. The specialty menu will feature a new cocktail offered for the day in The Living Room for $10, beginning with a decadent Spiked Hot Chocolate on December 1. From Ho Ho Ho-t Toddys to Christmas Negronis, gather with friends and warm up by the wood-burning fireplace.

+ The Tavern by sweetgreen – Holiday market pop-ups on Saturdays from 12 pm – 4pm, November 23 – December 21. Stop by to meet their featured local maker, sample their products and take some home at 10% off. Shop holiday specials all month long.

+ SandboX – After you’ve viewed the Georgetown GLOW light art installation Filament (3206 N St NW, next to Sid Mashburn), enjoy a jazz performance next door at SandboX, in addition to food and drinks. Enter SandboX via the courtyard below Filament from 6 pm – 10 pm, on scheduled dates. Performances include Todd Marcus (Dec. 13), Lena Seikaly with Steve Herberman trio (Dec. 14), Chris Barrick (Dec. 20), Sharon Clark (Dec. 21), Elijah Balbed and Dave Manley (Dec. 27), and Steve Herberman (Dec. 28).

+ Washington Harbour – Enjoy a Washington Harbour Winterfest celebration Saturday, December 7 from 5 pm – 8 pm. Check out a performance from the Georgetown University Figure Skating Club, plus giveaways, a DJ, and food & beverage specials. 

+ The Ritz-Carlton Georgetown – Paul Mason – a.k.a. “Fashion Santa” – is returning December 6 from 5 pm – 7 pm at The Living Room Lobby in support of Children’s National Light Up Dr. Bear campaign. Attendees are asked to donate $15 to Children’s National by visiting ChildrensNational.org/Lights in exchange for a one-of-a-kind photo with the most dapper man in town. OPEN LATE

Our Georgetown GLOW installations are lit nightly from 5 pm – 10 pm, December 6 – January 5. Many Georgetown businesses are staying open late Friday, December 6 – Sunday, December 8, and Friday, December 13 – Sunday, December 15, so you can truly make a night of it in Georgetown.

*Unless otherwise noted, late night hours are for weekends listed above.

+ 1789 – Restaurant open until 11 pm Friday and Saturday, and 10 pm Sunday. Club Room bar open until 1 am Friday and Saturday, and 12 am Sunday.
