Submerge yourself into the traditions of Italy, and eat some delicious seafood while you’re at it. The Feast of the Seven Fishes is a custom where seven different types of seafood are served at The Vigil dinner. It’s roots can be traced back to Southern Italy on La Vigilia, or Christmas Eve, when red meat was set aside and saved for the next day’s Christmas dinner. Therefore, seafood was what was left to eat on Christmas Eve. The practice was continued by the Italian immigrants in the United States and has been kept alive even to this day. Chef Liam has channeled his childhood Christmas Eve dinners and created a menu that will leave your taste buds reeling, featuring varying preparations of fish and seafood from different regions of Italy such as Pugliese style Stuffed Mussels, Black Spaghetti with Clams, Saffron Tomato Sauce and Arugula and more! You will be joined at every course for a description of each dish–feel free to ask questions. Each Dinner at Via Umbria is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the things we value here: great food, great wine, great people!

Dietary accommodations and vegetarian options are always available, please let us know when you book.

For our Dinner at the Chef's Table series, we serve a single fixed menu each night (with a vegetarian offering possible with advance request) and have one seating at 7:00 pm. All guests sit communally at one table. Each course is served at the same time and our Chef will join you at every course to describe what has been prepared and to answer any questions you may have. Every seat is a seat at the chef's table.

CYOB - Choose Your Own Bottle Purchase wine to accompany your dinner from our downstairs enoteca, affording you an incredible selection of hard-to-find Italian wines at retail prices. Take the Chef's recommendations or find a new favorite. This is a great opportunity to discover wines with the foods they are meant to be enjoyed with.

Wine Flight Each week the Chef will pair each course with a different taste of wine - enjoy four - 4 ounce pours with your dinner for an additional $25.

If you plan to purchase wine please arrive early to allow enough time to speak with our team and to fill your order, but in any event, we ask that you arrive a few minutes before the start time in order to assure timely seating. All guests planning to consume alcohol must have valid government-issued identification. Menus are subject to slight change due to market availability.
