Virtual Exhibition Colin Taylor’s Breathing Spaces: Cityscapes and Crowds

This exhibition will take the viewer from London to Morocco, India to Argentina, and back to Washington, DC, through abstract cityscapes. The chaos or simplicity of each painting derives from Taylor’s experience of the landscape itself as he viewed it.

Breathing Spaces will explore the visual sensation of emotions within an urban scene through the use of a combination of media (oil, pastel, and charcoal on canvas) and a rich palette. Taylor’s application of vigorous mark-making and swirling brushstrokes redefine the physical space of a landscapes’ mass into the individual perception of a place.
