Monoprint Magic – Intro to Gel Plate Printing with Jennifer Singh

We’ll explore ghost printing, layering, and even incorporate a Japanese tissue paper collage technique. By the end, you’ll have a series of prints and the skills to continue your gel plate journey on your own.

Session 2: Layering and Ghost Prints • Techniques for layering multiple colors and patterns • How to create and use ghost prints for subtle effects • Experimenting with charcoal and markers to add depth

Session 3: Incorporating Collage and Japanese Techniques • Introduction to chigiri-e: using torn Japanese paper in collage • Combining collage elements with gel prints • Adhering tissue paper and layering it into your compositions
