Alara is serving all-day menus of mezze and kebabs in the former Paolo’s space.

Alara, which refers to a water fairy in Turkish mythology, will specialize in cuisine form parts of the Mediterranean including Greece, Lebanon and Ilhan’s native Turkey.

Come December, Georgetown’s Federal-style architecture and cobblestone streets are brightened not only with strands of bulbs but also Georgetown Jingle—live holiday music in plazas, parks, and storefronts.

Georgetown Glow isn’t returning this year, but there’s a new holiday event taking over the neighborhood this month.

The bookseller is going through a growth spurt, with plans to open nearly 60 stores through the end of this year.
