Summer Kayaking + Pride-Themed Paddle

With the unofficial start of summer this weekend, it’s time to hit the water. Bring the whole family to Key Bridge Boathouse or Thompson Boat Center and rent kayaks, paddleboards, or canoes by the hour or day. Tours and classes are also available – from a Ghost and History Paddle, to a Kayak Sunset Paddle, and Monument Paddle. Beginning June 1, you can also celebrate Pride Month with a 1.5-hour Pride-themed kayak tour, available Friday-Sunday throughout June. Glide past iconic landmarks along the Potomac in kayaks decked out in Pride colors and learn about the history of LGBTQ+ activism in DC and how the city has been a significant hub for Pride events and the fight for equality. Enjoy an open and welcoming environment and receive Pride-themed accessories like rainbow flags or wristbands to wear during the tour. All skill levels are welcome!
