The charming two-story building was originally constructed in the 1830s as a storage room for the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Company. Later, it became a short-lived tavern, followed by a stable for horses and mules that pulled cargo up and down the canal – with drivers living above. Today, the Georgetown House serves as a boutique inn, with historic rooms and a small balcony overlooking the canal.
