The red and yellow-striped DC Circulator bus links cultural, entertainment and business destinations within the city. The Circulator offers 2 lines in Georgetown: east-west from Georgetown to Union Station via downtown; and from Rosslyn, VA through Georgetown to the Dupont Circle metro. The fare is $1. The Foggy Bottom-GWU Metro station, located on the blue and orange lines, is a short 15-minute walk from Georgetown. The Rosslyn, Virginia station, located on the blue and orange lines, is a short walk across the Key Bridge to Georgetown. Metro riders can also access Georgetown via the DC Circulator bus from the Rosslyn and Dupont Circle Metro stations. In addition to numerous public bike racks located throughout the commercial district, Capital Bikeshare has six stations in Georgetown. The program allows users to check out and return bikes from any of the 368 stations located throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. The Georgetown bikeshare stations are located at K Street and 30th Street at the Washington Harbour, at 34th Street and Water Street, at Wisconsin Avenue and O Street, at 37th Street and O Street (Georgetown University), at Pennsylvania Avenue and 28th Street, and at the 1000 block of Wisconsin Avenue, at Grace Street. Potomac Riverboat Company offers a scenic mode of travel around the metropolitan area. The Washington by Water Monuments Cruise connects Alexandria’s historic waterfront to Georgetown’s. D.C. is serviced by two international airports and one national airport: Reagan National Airport (DCA), Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI). All airports are accessible by taxi, shared ride van, and public transit.
At Reagan National Airport, the Metro has an elevated station connected to the concourse level of terminals B and C. From here, take the blue line towards the Largo Town Center station and get off at the Foggy Bottom station. Georgetown is a short walk from here. Alternatively, take the blue line towards the Largo Town Center station and get off at the Rosslyn station. From here, board the DC Circulator bus to Georgetown.
You can reach Georgetown from Dulles International Airport by taking the 5A Metrobus towards the L'Enfant Plaza Metro station and get off at the Rosslyn Metro station, where the DC Circulator bus picks up.
If flying into Baltimore Washington International, you can reach Georgetown by taking a free shuttle to BWI Rail Station. Here, purchase tickets for Amtrak or MARC trains which will take you to Union Station. From Union Station you can take the DC Circulator or ride Metro via the red line to Dupont Circle where you can access the DC Circulator bus.
