Women’s History Month: You Should Know Her Name: Reverend Doctor Pauli Murray

City Tavern Preservation Foundation presents: You Should Know Her Name – Reverend Doctor Pauli Murray (1910 – 1985)

  • Trailblazing Feminist, Civil Rights Activist, Lawyer, Legal Scholar, Author, Poet, Priest, Nonbinary who left an extraordinary legacy
  • Graduated First in her class at Howard University Law School – the only woman in her class
  • First African American woman to earn a PhD in Law from Yale University
  • Co-founder of the National Organization for Women
  • First African American women ordained as an Episcopal priest

And many more accomplishments. Admission is free but registration is required.

Doors and cash bar open at 6 pm. Program begins at 6:30pm.

 

Rosita Stevens-Holsey, a niece of Reverend Dr. Pauli Murray, is the president of Preserving Pauli Murray, LLC and coauthor of Pauli Murray-The Life of a Pioneering Feminist and Civil Rights Activist.
Books will be available at the event for $18.99, cash or check.
