Dancing on the Waterfront: Summer Series is a free weekly outdoor dance class with the Potomac as your backdrop! This event takes place in Georgetown Waterfront Park, where participants of all ages and skill levels gather to embrace the joy of dancing. The Georgetown BID is partnering with Dancing on the Waterfront (DOTW) to offer a special weeknight series on Tuesday evenings, June 9 – August 25 September 29 (DOTW has been extended!). Check out the updated schedule below, as our line-up has shifted!
Every week, a DJ will spin a mix of music, blending various genres and beats. From salsa to square dancing, bachata, country line dancing and kizomba, you’ll get to try an array of dance styles.

Dance Schedule
*On Latin and African dance nights, instruction is from 6-7 pm, followed by unguided social dancing (salsa, bachata, kizombo, and zouk) from 7-9pm. All other nights, an instructor will guide the group from 6-9pm.

July 28: Line Dancing
*August 4: Latin and African Dancing
August 11: Soul Line Dancing (line dances set to R&B, funk, and soul music)
August 18: Hip Hop
August 25: Soul Line Dancing (line dances set to R&B, funk, and soul music)
September 1: Hand Dancing and Latin Dancing
*September 8: Latin Dancing
September 15: Swing Dancing
September 22: Cuban Salsa / Bachata Dancing
