Fall Days Of Design / Nov. 2 - 4, 2017

 

The Georgetown Design District 's Fall Days of Design is a three-day scheduled event that invites interior designers, design enthusiasts and shoppers alike to visit participating design and home furnishings stores for new collection launches, trunk shows and design consultations. 

The event will officially kick off with a Days of Design Cocktail Crawl on Thursday, Nov. 2 from 5 pm – 8 pm. Stop in participating showrooms for sips and snacks by Georgetown restaurants, and get a passport stamp at each one to be entered to win an amazing collection of prizes. More details on participating showrooms and prizes to follow. 

Fall Days of Design events include:

 

THURSDAY, NOV. 2

10 am - Noon: New Fall Fabric Preview. Join Baker Furniture (3330 M St NW) and Dustin Jordan of Fabricut for the new Fall fabric launches from Fabricut and Trend, along with new fabrics in the lines from Stroheim, Vervain, and S Harris. Breakfast pastries and refreshments will be served, with a Q & A following the presentation. 

10 am - Noon: New Fall Collection. Join Calligaris, Georgetown (3328 M St NW) to view the new Fall collection, and enjoy prosecco and pastries. 

Noon – 2 pm: Panel Discussion & Lunch. Join Waterworks (3314 M St NW) for a panel discussion, DC Design Trends: Keeping Classic Fresh, moderated by Waterworks founder, Barbara Sallick. Panelists include Ankie Barnes (Barnes Vanze Architects), Martha Vicas (M.S. Vicas Interiors), and Andrew Law (Andrew Law Interior Design). Lunch will be served. 

4 pm – 6 pm: Italian Prints and Scarf DesignsB&B Italia and Boffi Georgetown (3320 M St NW) welcome artist Dagmara Weinberg and her Italian prints and silk scarf designs. 

4 pm – 8 pm: Trunk Show with InBloom Jewelry. Join Resource Furniture (3340 Cady's Alley) for sips and snacks while you shop for beautiful, handmade jewelry from award-winning designer and goldsmith Stacey Krantz. Birthdays, anniversaries, holiday gifts and more are available. 

5 pm – 7 pm: Italian Design Essence: Kitchen & Bath. Join Scavolini DC (1005 Wisconsin Ave NW) as they dine and dish about the Italian sense of beauty. Discover Italian kitchen essence with food and wine for an evening of Italian design. 

5 pm - 7 pm: Pups and Prosecco. Join bulthaup (3324 Cady's Alley) as they host Lucky Dog Animal Rescue for an evening of pups, prosecco and light fare. Meet with adoption coordinators - and adoptable pups! - to discuss the ins-and-outs of fostering, sponsoring or adopting your new family member from this non-profit rescue organization.  

6 pm – 8 pm: Bang and Olufsen Product Launch. Bang and Olufsen will reveal their latest product exclusively for the DC market at BoConcept Georgetown (3342 M St NW). Come and experience Danish Design where functionality, design and quest of excellence meet. BoConcept will also present the results of its new collaboration with world-renowned designer Karim Rashid. Hors d'oeuvre and French wine will be included. 

5 pm – 8 pm: Days of Design Cocktail Crawl. More information to come.

 

FRIDAY, NOV. 3

10 am – Noon: Passport to the World of JANUS et Cie. The first 50 people who tour the showroom will receive a special JANUS et Cie (3304 M St NW) travel set containing a passport wallet, luggage tag and traveler adapter. 

Noon - 2 pm: Sips and Sweets with the Shade Store. The Shade Store (3324 M St NW) has recently formed exclusive partnerships with world-renowned tastemakers and designers. Stop into the showroom to shop and swatch their two newest designer Roller Shade Collections with Jonathan Adler and Nate Berkus. Sips and sweets will be served!

2 pm - 4 pm: Design CEUs. Join W.T. Weaver & Sons (1208 Wisconsin Ave NW) for afternoon tea & treats and two informative CEUs. How to Specify Door Hardware will be taught by Alicia Julien from Baldwin Door Hardware, and The Design for All: Universal Design/Aging in Place will be taught by Michelle Stilley (area representative for Hansgrohe and Newport Brass) from The Joyce Agency. Designers and architects who attend will be entered into a drawing to win a FREE Baldwin Handleset from The Reserve Collection.  There will also be a plumbing-related giveaway for the Design For All CEU. Free parking for those who attend the CEU.

4 pm - 6 pm: Champagne and Design. Join Contemporaria (3303 Cady's Alley) for the Days of Design event. Details TBD.

4 pm - 6 pm: TBD at Jonathan Adler.

5 pm – 7 pm: Meet & Greet with Christopher Spitzmiller. Join Circa Lighting (3323 Cady's Alley) to learn what inspires the renowned ceramicist Christopher Spitzmiller and celebrate his most iconic designs and classic silhouettes. 

SATURDAY, NOV. 4

11 am – Noon: Brunch Reception and Designer Q&A. Join Pillar & Post’s (1647 Wisconsin Ave NW) Daphna Peled and designer Darlene Molnar for mimosas and light bites.  Get inspired with new inventory and discuss ways to incorporate antiques into any style. Darlene—whose project is on the cover of HGTV Magazine’s November issue—will be available to answer design questions. The first 20 attendees will receive a gift bag with the magazine.

Noon - 2 pm: The New Classic. Design Within Reach (3338 M St NW) will launch an iconic chair in a new fiinish--details to come! Light bites and drinks will be offered, plus a takeaway bag.

Noon – 2 pm: The Ultimate in Sleep Luxury. Join DUXIANA (3307 Cady's Alley) to discover the most advanced sleep technology on the market, as well as the ultimate in luxury down and linens.
