The Phoenix delights Washingtonians – over 50 years on Wisconsin Avenue at P Street, NW!
We feature contemporary clothing and accessories, fine jewelry from around the world, and unique décor for the home.
EILEEN FISHER is one of our favorite clothing designers, famous for great fabric and simple lines. We love to pair her clothing with our Italian leather bags, hand-painted silk scarves by IRO, or art-to-wear jackets from Guatemala. Isda & Co., and Cambio clothing offer fresh fit and fabric for the woman who appreciates great style.
Jewelry designers Nava Zahavi from Israel, Azaara from California, and Bernd Wolf from Germany, create unique pieces with one-of-a-kind stones in silver and gold. Simon Sebbag, and Zina each design bold, modern jewelry in sterling silver.
South African artist, Carrol Boyes, blends whimsy and wit into beautiful pewter table accessories. Handcrafted Talavera ceramic serving pieces from Puebla, and mirrors from San Miguel de Allende in Mexico add color to your home décor. Brightly painted Oaxacan wooden animals enchant the folk art collector.
Our Story
The Phoenix began in 1955 when Betty and Bill Hays vacationed in Mexico. They fell in love with the culture and the people, returned home with a station wagon full of folk art, and opened The Phoenix on Wisconsin Avenue, NW. Today, John and Sharon Hays, and their daughter, Samantha, continue their romance with the light and color of Mexico, and bring to Georgetown clothing, jewelry, and accessories from around the world.
