Learn about the history of chocolate from its ancient beginnings in Meso-America to the modern day at Dumbarton House (2715 Q Street, NW) on Tuesday, February 12th, at 7 p.m. This interactive presentation will focus on how chocolate has changed through time in terms of its cultural value and how mechanization has altered its production process. Following the presentation will be a tasting of hot chocolate the Aztec way, an 18th century-style chocolate tart, a 19th century-style chocolate pudding, a 20th century chocolate bar, and the latest 21st century chocolate incarnation with sea salt.
